This fall the citizens of Minnesota will vote on a constitutional amendment that would permanently ban marriage for committed same-sex couples. The proposed anti-marriage amendment would change the state constitution, forbidding same-sex couples from marrying and effectively ending the conversation or any opportunity for further debate on this sensitive issue.

The Minnesota constitution has never been used to limit the freedoms of a specific class of citizens, and there is no reason to take such unprecedented action now. Defeating this amendment will not enable gay and lesbian couples to marry in Minnesota, but it will allow the conversation to continue.

After careful consideration, Outsell has chosen to become a Premier Sponsor of Minnesotans United for All Families, the official campaign to defeat the constitutional amendment banning marriage for same-sex couples.

Minnesotans United for All Families is a broad coalition of organizations and community and business leaders. Faith, labor, progressive, and nonpartisan organizations, communities of color, current and former elected officials, Republicans, Democrats, Greens, Independents, and Libertarians have all joined to defeat the constitutional amendment which would limit the freedoms of Minnesotans and ban marriage for same-sex couples in Minnesota.

Outsell was founded on a strong belief in the values of Caring and Teamwork. We proudly support Minnesotans United and will always stand up for our associates and their families, regardless of personal choices or differences.

On Thursday, May 24, Outsell Founder and CEO Mike Wethington and his family will be co-hosting a fundraiser for Minnesotans United. Outsell will be making a matching donation for any donation from any of our associates that night, and will continue to support this cause in the hopes of getting as many Minnesotans as possible to vote NO on a permanent ban of same-sex marriage.
